Wierd-ass dreams again
Jun. 12th, 2003 11:33 amSo I made the decision to start paying attention to my dreams again, and lo, after a long stretch of either a) not dreaming or b) not remembering my dreams (which seems more likely), immediately upon resolving to pay more attention I begin to wake up going "What the holy fuck?" again. Dream follows, cut for utter irrelevance to anything.
In my dream, I've been chosen as part of a large group of people to live as if we were a carnival or circus. We are all given roles chosen out of my top hat (I know it's mine because although it began its life as a fairly nondescript tophat in the collection of my brother, it was soon covered in holographic glitter). I am supposed to be a performer who dances with fire, and I'm given a costume dress all red and gold. In the circus scenario, there are two competing circuses. Linda is chosen ringmaster of the circus I'm in, and Carey is chosen as ringmaster of the other circus. All goes well for a bit, although the circus mutates into something more like a midway with occasional shows. Then, at some point, I become aware that the other circus is not just my circus' rival, but is in fact an eeeeevil circus, and they are searching for something among the people in my circus. I have just discovered this when I am attending one of the other circus' shows, and they stop the show in the middle and the performers point at me - "She's the one! She has it!" and they chase me. In the lead are a pair of twins who are knife-throwers, but their knives have become their fingers, which they detatch at will, and which they regenerate. I run through the midway, which is sitting on top of a great sort of steam-works building - I run down and down through the steamworks, looking for a way out, looking for Linda. I know if I can just find Linda, she would protect me. But I don't find her. The performers catch me, take my costume, and put me in a cage. I'm now wearing their circus colors, which are purple and grey. I try to break out of the cage, but I can't. Eventually, Carey, the evil circus ringmaster, comes by and lets me go - she says "We just got these roles at random - why shouldn't I help you?"
Then, the next thing I know, I'm sitting in a cafe somewhere, in street clothes, with Linda, Carey, and some of the other people from the circus scenario, and I'm picking out stationery and napkins for my wedding.
Really, I think the last bit was the most disturbing.

Date: 2003-06-12 02:44 pm (UTC)I'm sure that I have dreams, but the only ones I seem to recall are the ones that wake me up at bad hours of the night. Ones in which I am either being crawled on by tarantulas (I am a committed arachnophobe) or in which I am on top of a very tall building (such as the one in which I was waling on a balance beam between the twin towers of the WTC ... and this was after 9/11) (oh, and I forgot to mention that I am an acrophobe, as well). The one pleasant one that comes to mind is one in which I was flying, and it felt as though I was on an inflatable pool raft, floating on the air instead of the water.
I like the Eee-ville circus thing. If you recall any other particular details about it, let me know ... sounds like my kind of place, for some reason or other.

I want you to know that since I met you, eeevil can no longer have only one 'e'.
That sounds like a comic book plot.
