This morning we woke up early early to celebrate the Festival of Grumbling at [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn, otherwise known as greeting the sun at solstice. Fortunately, this year's festivities included very tasty cinnamon rolls, which ensured that the celebrations did not descend to too much violence. The sun was duly sung to (the hymn of choice being The Beatles' "Here Comes the Sun" again this year, partially inspired by my hair), fires were lit (and went out, and were lit again), gifts were given, and snarkiness was shared. All was mostly well in the land of early fricking morning.

So happy solstice to all of you who feel that the solstice is a thing worth celebrating.

Here are a few more alleged presents that I stole from other LJ-friends and now pass on to others:

For [livejournal.com profile] iron_clad, Kung Fu porn (by way of [livejournal.com profile] sannion). (Not Work Safe, obviously.)

For [livejournal.com profile] triadruid, a Really Stoned Owl, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] jackbabalon23.

It was great to see you, grumbles and all. The things we do for piety...

And thanks for brushing and braiding my hair for me. I feel pretty today.

Happy Yule!

Honestly, since I'm not a day person, I don't bother with watching the sun come up on Yule morning. I think it's more important to stay up through the longest night. Just a temperment thing, I guess.

[livejournal.com profile] agrnmn is Mr. Morning.

And next year, the Solstice is on Friday, the 22nd. If we get out of school Wednesday of that week, there will be even more people grumbling at the event.

"Not a morning person" doesn't even begin to describe it.

Just so you know: he is unaffected by grumbling and tears, the bastid.
