Further computer doom. The leads go to the right pins. There is power to the motherboard. Power switch does Nothing. No lights, no fans, no beeping, Nothing.

Research indicates that no one in the history of the world has ever had any power problems with this case or this motherboard.

No idea. [livejournal.com profile] orcjohn is gonna come by with actual tools tomorrow and see if he can figure it out. I'm sure it's something I'm just too stupid to see.

Grr.

Sounds like a faulty power supply to me.

Even though it's powering the board? It's not like amping up and then failing, it just does nothing at all when you hit the switch. I would think if it were underpowered, it would start and then die.

no power

There could be lots of possible power supply problems. Underpower is just one of them. Another is a bad switch circuit inside.

Any chance you have a spare power supply you could temporarily swap in, or another computer that wouldn't miss its power supply for a few minutes? All you'd need is the main board leads and the switch lead.

We might try that this evening. I'll let you know if it works!
