1. Finish writing my bits for the Wild Hare Lammas ritual.
2. Bake something for said ritual.
3. Make something related to cheesecake for Gaia Lughnassadh potluck. Mmm...cheesecake.

4. Find or acquire a dress to base my costume around for DragonCon. We're going to be in the parade with the Wheel of Time group (is it cosplay if it isn't anime-based?) -- I'm apparently going to be an Aes Sedai. This implies that we should also solve the shawl issue at some point between now and Con.
5. Sleep.
6. Finish How Few Remain. I hope that George Custer gets what's coming to him for cheating on his wife while mocking the Mormons for being polygamists. Hypocrite.
7. Go to the library and get more books! Mmmm....books.
8. Interview prospective Gaia ritualists. [livejournal.com profile] cynthiaweb and [livejournal.com profile] druidevo, you'll be getting a call or an email for scheduling purposes Real Soon Now.

9. Make new icons. I really need one for "I disapprove" and one for "SQUEE!". Except that under no circumstances should I ever have an icon that actually says "SQUEE!". I'm so much more subtle than that. Heh.

Wow, I could go to the library. I could browse, and read, and not do math... suddenly my world has expanded again. Except the library I go to is closed on Friday, but there is always tomorrow! I feel so...Annie like!

Mmm...cheesecake, the making of which continues to elude me. I have tried recipes galore, Alton Brown, Joy of Cooking, America's Best...nada..nada 2! So we buy... but I wish I could make a good, dense, cheesecake.

We do love the cheesecake. What goes awry with your cheesecake? Always the same thing, or new and different things every time?

I've had good luck using and adapting a recipe I found on Epicurious (http://www.epicurious.com) for strawberry cheesecake with a graham cracker crust. You might give that one a go, as it's particularly easy. It's not quite as dense as some though.

We like the kind that is super dense and has a sour cream type topping. Usually they aren't dense enough, cooked enough, over cooked... hmm...typing this makes me think I should try again with my spiffy new oven. I've noticed other things turning out much better since we got rid of our poor old limp-a-long.

Yep. If your oven heats unevenly, cheesecake is a challenge. Also, if it's not true to temperature and you don't know that :)

Also, you want to make sure that your springform pan closes nice and tight -- if it doesn't clamp well, you lose a lot more liquid, which can result in an overbake.

I can really miss the obvious sometimes...until I trip over it. Old oven= crap, uneven baking, hot spots, and tiny

New oven= right temp, tight seal, even baking...

And the d'uh light flickers on. I will have to budget some money towards cream cheese and try again.

Oh, the excitement!

So who gets to be in on the fun? Are you going to ask me any of those corporate HR type questions that make me want to scream and flee the room? I've been practicing by interviewing for paying jobs...

I believe that your panel consists of me, [livejournal.com profile] saffronhare and [livejournal.com profile] 8elements.

I don't think we're going to ask you anything too terribly corporate. Although I do think we are supposed to ask you what you consider your strengths and weaknesses to be. But I think that's it from the "Questions cribbed from job interviews" category.

But, since this is a brand-new process, you should probably tell us which questions made you want to stick a pen in your eye, so we can be less awful for the next group.

If you are planning on being at the ritual on Sunday, we can probably do this between 3 and 3:30ish (I don't really think it will take that long, but we wanted to give people time to be long-winded if that's their inclination. It's certainly mine).

Kitty and I talked about Voices of Gaia coming early to go over the songs for the ritual. So if you want to interview both of us before ritual I should go first, but if you're planning to interview one of us after the ritual, maybe I should be after the ritual.

Randomly, I also ran across one of Alan Cumming in a hot tub thing with Ian McKellan.

Is that top one Adam Pierson??

Mais non. It is Alan Cumming, world's sexiest transvestite scotsman. In his pajamas, quite possibly.

Ah. *facepalm* Hopefully...

you can understand my confusion... except that the actor, of course, is Peter Wingfield, not Adam Pierson. *faceplam, twice*

Wait. What?

Then who is Adam Pierson?

Obviously an Alan Cumming wannabe. Accept no substitutes.

Well, you can't blame anyone for that. Who wouldn't want to be Alan Cumming?

Er. Now that he's past junior high, anyway. It was probably a little rough being Alan Cumming in junior high.

Actually

the girls rather fancied him. Useless, but you can't blame them.

I thought he was bi. Although I hear there aren't any such thing as bisexual men anymore, so maybe not.

Peter Wingfield is the actor, Adam Pierson was his role on the Highlander TV series. And I'm not going to start a fight on YOUR journal about who's sexier...

The Alan Cumming fellow's not bad, but I rather thought your Ed Wood "Perfect" icon was close enough to what you wanted. Next thing you'll be wanting an icon stating that you just passed gas.

This picture, with a caption that says "I just farted," would work for that.

Why not? I mean, I have room for 30.
Not that I need an icon that says I've passed gas.
Usually when that happens, people are aware.

Hey, before or after is fine by me. You could so have [livejournal.com profile] cynthiaweb go before ritual and me go after, that way I could find out what questions you asked and can come up with really bad answers.

You should have more faith in yourself. I'm sure you can come up with really bad answers spontaneously without prior knowledge of the questions!
