Well, I hope the fact that I typed a really long post and then closed my browser accidentally instead of posting it is not an omen for the rest of my day.

According to American Greetings, today is "Talk Like a Mad Scientist Day". I'm not sure I consider a greeting card company to be a reliable source about holidays, but hey. Your reality is what you make it. This was a momentous discovery, but not so momentous as the discovery that I'd missed out on "Monkey Day", which was apparently on the 22nd (which also happens to be the birthday of wildnsquirrelly. Coincidence? I think not.). I am so saddened by missing Monkey Day that I am declaring today to also be Monkey Day (or, as I have just learned, Dia de los Monos), or maybe Belated Monkey Day. You make the call.

Anyway. I didn't get any sleep of note last night, so I'm starting off a little bit punchy today. I did sleep for about three hours running, but then woke up with the unshakeable impression that I was sleeping in the house that I lived in when I was in high school. I do this from time to time, wake up and have an entirely wrong idea about where I am, either physically or in terms of where I am in life. It's not so bad as long as I am sleeping alone.

But that's not important. What's important is that I am waiting to hear from triadruid about his vasectomy consultation this morning. I was supposed to go with him and kittenpants, but had a meeting that I had to be at here instead. Of course, when I got here, I discovered that the meeting had been cancelled. Oh well, c'est la vie. I sent him with a note from me, anyway. Not that my opinion is going to be important to the doctor, probably, but it never hurts to be prepared.

Finally, a bit of fluff. I had to see your lists, so now you have to see mine. Or not.

Doyle.. OMG the fantasies I have about that dark and dangerous lover. Zach often reads my sci fi I leave around, so he picked up one of the Merry books, Hah! After going a bit pale he put it back down and now refers to it as "Mom's fairy porn!"

Last night kittenpants finished the new one and handed it off to me. She says "I don't think they get through 24 hours in this book. The plot goes nowhere."
So I say, "That's okay. I don't read 'em for the plot anyway." At this point triadruid about lost it. :)

I agree with the assesment of the last book. It seemed to be this filler, they didn't even have as much sex as usual:( I'm looking forward to Cel getting out so we can see more action and evil and such.

As an aside, Jim had a vasectomy after the Dr told us another pregnancy would very probably kill me. It's been the absolute best thing ever for our sex life. 20 years of being able to do it anytime, anywhere, with no worries (other than police and wildlife) Fabulous, best sex aid ever.

I can only speak for us, of course. It was a good thing for us. Not having to fumble around, trying to find something, being caught without protection, ofr us it was great.

Well, if I had a partner already, I imagine it would be very helpful. Which of course is part of the reason I got it done.

I'm just saying it doesn't seem to provide any benefit for a single person. In my experience.

If we weren't monogamous it probably wouldn't help. I'd still have to worry about birth control and he'd have to worry about disease. I sort of assumed the "for us" would be mentally added to my statement, but your right, assuming isn't a good thing:) For us it's a fabulous sex aid and works well... for anyone else I don't know.

Of course not. You like to get bitten and scratched BY HUMANS, or at least, not by non-sentient creatures. I make no predictions what you'd do if you actually ended up with a werewolf in bed, but I'm certainly getting more batteries for the camera.

Mmmm, technically, she had Dracula, and I'm pretty sure the version she's thinking of has the ability to assume bestial form... But yes, you're right, I wasn't going strictly off her list here.

Seriously. Bram Stoker's Dracula is almost certainly what I had in mind. Which film, as we know, includes the hottest werewolf/redhead sex scene known to humankind.

However, also in the source novel, Dracula could become a wolf. Whether that was 'wolf' in the sense of 'wolfman' or not was not specified.

Dracula could shapeshift at will into a wolf, a bat, or even fog, but true lycanthropy is of a whole different order in that it's more like a disease, in that it's contagious and has uncontrollable symptoms.

Which only means that a vampire is probably more convenient and could turn into whatever, whenever. Flexible, creative, well timed. A werewolf you have to catch at just the right the moment, and even then, things could get rougher than one might bargain for. Plus, it'd only be once a month. And if one accidently were to mix up one's silver and wooden sex toys--meh, disaster!

Hey now. What's wrong with Gambit (that isn't wrong with choosing any other, er... animated character)?
Admittedly, sissy and Cajun may be positives in my system while being negatives in yours. And he blows stuff up! Who doesn't like blowing stuff up?
