The trouble with subcultures is that, if you spend enough time in one, you get to this stage where you're pretty sure it's different from mainstream culture, but you start to forget how it's different, or to what degree.

Also worth repeating:
If it's just you doing something, you might be a freak. But if you can get one other person to do it with you, then you're a very small subculture.

I've developed this habit, when I'm around our particular social set, of patting somebody on the ass as I walk by them. It's not a particularly sexual gesture...just a friendly greeting, you know?

Well. It gets complicated when I'm maneuvering around family. I swear I've lost count of how many times I've had to stop myself from patting the ass (or, heaven help me, the genitals) of a brother in-law.

OMG's no kidding. I do the same thing. Especially around my closer friends at work. I have to resist the urge sometimes. It's amusing.

I am glad I am not the only one who has difficulty with this... Sometimes I just can't help myself. I have told more than one coworker, "Don't do that postition infront of me... your tempting an ass smack!" Most of them are like, "WHAT?!" with a few going, "Really?"

I actually have the same reaction on occasion, but if *I* did it, there'd be a sexual harassment suit...

Funny thing... I read a SH report in which a guy was a rude crude asshole that said somethings that made *me* blush and they found him not guilty of SH because he did it to both sexes, he did not discriminate his behavier between the two. Nice argument to be bi... :-)
