From Dr. Who (of all places.)(The Tom Baker era.)(brought to the forefront of my consciousness by [livejournal.com profile] lexpendragon):

"Ask me if I have a plan."
'Do you?'
"No, now ask me why."
'Why?'
"I can be very dangerous when I don't know what I'm doing."

That's great! I really should use that. Also, I really should watch some Tom Baker Dr. Who. He was so funny.

I'm Not Sure that's the Exact Quote I Can't Seem To Find It Anywhere.

I'm Pretty Sure It Was In Destiny Of The Daleks, Though.

Haven't seen it. Must make an admission - I have seen approximately 2 Dr. Who episodes in my entire life, and the made-for-tv movie/pilot thingie that had er... Paul.. er... wossname in it.

I am delighted with the concept of Dr. Who, especially the Tom Baker bits, as there is the scarf to consider, but generally sort of figure that there's way, way too much back-watching necessary to ever figure out what the hell is going on, so have never really watched.

You're In Luck! Most Of The World Thought That Way.

So The New Series Assumes You Know Nothing Of The Doctor, And Starts You Fresh, Yet Still In In Line With The Others, So You Can Look Back If You Want To. It's Probably The Greatest Thing Ever Produced For Television, And Isn't Airing In The US.

High Recommended. I Hadn't Seen Any Doctor Who Before This Season, Either.

I've only seen two Dr Who episodes all the way through.... or maybe it was two 2- or 4- or 6-episode arcs.... anyway, those were the two completed ones written by Douglas Adams ("The Pirate Planet" and "City of Death", both of which starred Tom Baker), and I didn't need to, um, watch any backs to get it. Though I guess one (or maybe both) is part of a larger "Key To Time" arc that I didn't catch.

There may be a difference between the standard serial format and the format I saw though.

I do feel like becoming a Dr Who fan automatically commits one to decades' worth of episodes, which is a bit overwhelming to me. I have a more modest long-term goal of seeing all of the episodes script-edited by Adams.

Found The Quote!
