I know you're not a television watcher, but I've seen you reference the occasional genre show (X-Files, etc), so I wonder if you happened to catch Firefly, the SciFi show that got cancelled prematurely and then went on to become far more popular after the fact...to the extent that a full-scale movie is coming out in September.

I know a lot of the cast is going to be at DragonCon this year, is all.

I've not seen any of it. (I think the show began after I unplugged? Hard to remember - it's been a while.) I have heard good things about it though, and not just from the folks who were outraged over the cancellation of the Star Trek prequel show (which I can't remember the name of and thought was particularly awful, even for a genre show). I will probably try to catch the film (which should be easy, as they're bound to show it at the con).

That's fairly weather dependent. I am supposed to go to the pool opening party (10 am - 2 pm). We thought this would be a good way to meet some of the new neighbors. However, I have to be at RfB, and the weather is having great suck factor for tomorrow right now, so we could probably do it easily. I'm guessing it won't be a good day for frolicking in the pool, so craftiness can ensue (or at least I could work on getting the craft stuff over to the new place.
Boil that down and you get a definite probably.

I haven't really made any arrangements for him yet. I figured I could probably talk somebody into coming by to feed and water him. Sadly, diermuid, who used to sort of just drop by to play with the dog from time to time, now lives on the other side of fuckall from us...

You're not volunteering to take care of the dog, are you?
