Can I talk any of you local people into going to see Kingdom of Heaven with me? I mean, are there any of you whose fetish for reconstructionism is minor enough to allow you to see and possibly even enjoy this film? Cause I dig epics, and I dig Templars, and I understand that nothing about the Crusades is true anyway, and I'd like to go. But I'm pretty sure that my other two thirds are gonna want to take a miss on this one.

Wednesday is no good for me this week - I'm guest-teaching EiR. I don't know when I have a free moment to see the damned thing at all, really. Just trying to plot.

Please? I'd love to go. I actually *own* Troy and Knight's Tale and Timeline -- solid indications that historical or scientific accuracty have NOTHING to do with why I will enjoy a flick.

My husband may also wish to see this movie. Maybe we could get a babysitter and make it a JoCo-shocking triple date? Barring that, [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn will probably have to wrestle over who gets to go. Not that wrestling is a BAD thing.

I should have known you'd be in favor :)
Bad Movie Night™?

(Bonus points for being JoCo-shocking, but if I go with you and your lovely husband, whose lap should I jump into if I am startled by Fire and Loud Noises?)

No worries.

This is a Ridley Scott movie, dear. There will be enough opportunities for lap-jumping that I'm sure we'll be able to take turns.

Giving, that's me. Too bad Vin Diesel isn't in this one.

'scuse me. I'll clean that up.

I might -- I don't know enough about that particular epoch to be terribly bothered by the inaccuracies. But it's lower on my list than HGG right now.

You'll like Hitchhiker's, I think.

If you like Templars, you may not be crazy about how they are portrayed. I believe David Thewliss plays the only symapthetic one that we see.

I'm not really invested in any idea that the Templars were good guys, any more than any other faction in the whole mess. They're the most interesting, but mostly because they've generated the most bizarre speculation. If they'd been nice guys, they wouldn't have amassed enough treasure to shame the King, you know?

But I do like David Thewliss, and had managed to forget that he was in this. Good times.

You're not in it for the history, you just want to see if Orlando Bloom shows his bum. Lecherous git. ;)

Oh don't misunderstand, it'd be enough to get me to go. Is it just me, or is that man Yaoi material?

Sorry love, that's not one I'll explain to you. Read up on your Ghastly's Ghastly Comic, or even better, google it. I'd kill my comment, but by now it's too late. >:)

I would love to go see it, but I think you're going to want to go before I can free up the time. Ah well, there's always video...
