Note to Kansans:

1. Vote, ya bastaads!

2. Figure out how to build a parking lot in which the entrance to the parking lot from the road is in some way obviously related to the building or buildings the lot serves. Which is to say that this thing where you have to turn half a mile past the place you're trying to go, then use a service road to spiral around the building complex several times until you can make final approach on your target, it's not working for me.

kthxbye.

The world of driving may become better when we have air cars and can just float over the medians. Then again, I'd hate to see the results of a drunk air-driver ...

What will be even better for my driving purposes will be when I get an air car and secretly install laser blasters in the headlights. But that's another matter entirely.

See, when we have air cars, I'll have to stop driving. It'll be like the transition from Nintendo to Super Nintendo, where you suddenly have this extra directional knob on the controller. The move from top-down or side-scroller controls to 3d controls destroyed my ability to play console games.

It just re-establishes the learning curve. I was able to pick it up eventually, but it's like re-learning the four dimentional movement with just one thumb.

I can't play console games with any degree of proficiency, either.

COOL!!! TRON!!!

(Which, dramatically speaking, sucked, but is still a maned good-looking movie.)

Heh. Feel free to appropriate the icon (with credit, please) if you like.

This comment brought to you by an icon from another movie with fantastic visuals.

I say we all move to a real blue state and secede! (not sure where that is exactly, may be Europe or Canada which makes secession moot)

I say we just carve out a hunk of land where we are and secede from here.

Either that or move to California and engineer the quake that will break it off from the continental US. It's probably easier to defend an island.

Yeah, but then they'll build a wall around us, and John Carpenter will be warden...err, governor.

I say we steal a line from the old-school Republicans and stop sending urban tax dollars to rural areas...

Actually there seems to be some religious sects that are completely tax exempt but you have to forgego using all publicly funded service (including the roads, cept maybe toll roads). Of course I could be wrong buit we do know a good lawyer...

The only problem I have with that idea is that then some Stupid Worthless Conservative Sack of Shit (not that I'm bitter or anything) will then be able to compare himself to Lincoln.

Driving is interesting

I went halfway airborne Sunday night because I misjudged the incline on a business' driveway, and took it at 25 mph. I went to Taco Bell at Atlantic/Hodges, and then went to Burger King because I wanted a milk shake. But of course, their milk shake machine was down, so I went across the street to the McDonalds. That driveway has a pretty sharp incline, but in my defense it was 9pm and dark, and I was trying to cross 3 lanes of traffic that was traveling at 50mph+, in a gap. I felt my front tires leave the pavement (by a goodly amount, or so it seemed) for a second or two then bounce back down. It was interesting, to say the least. Good thing my current ponyset of wheels has good suspension and shocks, that's all I'm sayin'. ;) And I sure was completely awake after that, sure 'nuff.

*snork* at least it wasn't a freeway offramp.

Did this once, in Dallas, in the driving rain.

Parking lot entrance was something like this:
~~~curb~~~\__entrance__/~~~median or curb?~~\__entrance__/~~~...
I'll leave it to you to guess where I tried to enter. Dented my rim, had a slow leak in my tire that made me forego the stopping-at-a-hotel-between-OK-and-FL thing. Arrived at my mom's place at about 7am, having also lost a headlight and my rear view mirror in later adventures of the same trip.
In retrospect, it's probably just as well that I gave that car to [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale's ex to lose in Las Vegas...
lol...win-win scenario? :D
Yeah for mine I actually was in the driveway, it just went up at an approximately 30 degree angle, for about 6 inches or so, then right back down again. It was fun.
As [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale can tell you, I have really decent ground clearance on my vehicle. It's about 8-12 inches, I think, but I don't have the exact measurement. :)
