Dream

I'm on my lunch break, wandering through city streets lined with small shops. I think it is part of My City, but that's mostly because the color scheme is the same, brushed steel and cobalt blue and pale concrete. I stop in at a beauty salon, hoping to get my eyebrows waxed. The salon is full. I wait in line behind a man in a cryptic coat. When I finally reach the receptionist, she tells me it will be twenty minutes. I look at the clock. At this moment, I have a Great And Powerful Cosmic Insight about The Nature of Beauty and Divinity, which has equations in it. Then, I realize that there is no way I can wait that long and still get back to work on time. I decide to go home instead, and meditate on said Cosmic Insight.

At this point, there is a split in narrative, and the visual style switches to something like unto a comic book. There are frames. In one, the man in the cryptic coat has also left the salon, and is walking home. He is thinking about me. He knows I have the equations. He thinks that his coat has something to do with it (Incidentally, I know that it is a cryptic coat because that's what he says, "It must have been brought on by my cryptic coat" -- the words appear in a thought bubble above his head). He also thinks I thought he was hot. This alarms him.

In the other frame, I drive home, which surprisingly actually turns out to be EHQ. druidevo is there, talking to kittenpants about druidry. I run into my room. There is a book on the bed titled "Gorilla Eroica". I misread it as "Gorilla Erotica", and have a WTF? moment, during which I lose the Cosmic Insight. Cursing ensues.

In the first frame, the man in the cryptic coat is worried.

sometimes you have the weirdest dreams. i'm generally pretty good about figuring these things out (dream analysis and such) but your's and kittenpants confuse me a good deal of time.

It is what it is. I harbor a secret, non-pagan-popular theory that dreams are generally just expenditures of excess charge that has accumulated in the neurons, and don't "mean" anything at all. But then, they say I'm a post-modernist.

I also harbor the theory that dreams are the most important mental function we possess and that they are a direct link to the realms of the gods and all knowledge. But then, they say I'm a crazy person.

I flow between these two theories, and all points in between, at need and at will. But then, they say I'm a magician.

I Love Reading Your Dreams. They Sound Like Some Kind Of Fucked Up TV Show Where You Spend Most Of The Season Watching It, Going 'WTF?', With Some Kind Of Understanding Resting Just Around The Corner....

...And Then Finding Out The Season Finale Is A cliffhanger, And Next Season Is More Of The Same Delightfully Confusing And Abstract Narrative, Which Almost, But Not Quite, Makes Sense....
