Marking a milestone in the development of Cheerleader Cat: She jumped the cat gate this morning. Although, I think, from watching her do it, that perhaps she had figured this out a long time ago, and was only choosing to do it now.

After all, she sat at my door and stared wistfully until I eventually emerged. It was kittenpants and triadruid's gate she jumped. She then sniffed around, determined that there was in fact nobody in the room, and that they were not just hiding from her, then left the room via the overgate route.

I hope that this is a desperate measure to find kittenpants and that she will still respect the gate in most situations, because I don't care to close the bedroom doors all the time - it's unfriendly, and she can open the door if she wants to anyway.

Well, since I had to chase her out from under the bed last night with a sword, I think we might want to look at other options. How about some of that 'coat closet' netting they used on the puddlejumper from Santa Fe?
