Bit more surreal than most of the recent material:

breathofgold has two parties. One is a Valentine's Day party and one is a party for deskdiva's birthday. They are good parties, and a lot of people come, Gaians and theater kids. For some reason, they are also fundraisers, and breathofgold is selling things at the parties. At the valentine's day party, I buy a cup, which is wrapped in cloth like wired ribbon in shimmering purple. Written on the ribbon in a very Alice-in-Wonderland sort of typeface is the phrase "They do go both ways" from The Wizard of Oz. breathofgold pours me a frozen drink in the cup - it is made with cream and something that fizzes more than soda, not entirely unlike pop rocks. triadruid and kittenpants make fun of my drink.

Later, agrnmn comes by, complaining of calluses on his feet. I look at his feet, and the soles of his feet are thick like the dragon boots Gene Simmons used to wear. I tell him I can help with that. I take an Xacto knife and slice off three inches from the bottom of his foot. There is no blood, and he doesn't seem to feel it. I hand him the piece of his sole that I've cut off and tell him not to let anybody steal it. I am about to do the same procedure with his other foot, but I am distracted by the effects of the sparkly drink, and I wander away.

I remember nothing until the next party, deskdiva's birthday party. It is, for lack of a better word, a shapeshifter/werewolf party, but nobody will say right out that that's what it is. Nonetheless, references are everywhere. breathofgold is giving away door prizes. She gives me a copy of some movie on DVD - there is a picture of the scene from Bram Stoker's Dracula in which Dracula fucks Lucy as a werewolf on the cover. I give her two dollars for a raffle, and she gives me a mushroom with a number written on it. Also written on the mushroom is a warning that this mushroom is not to be eaten, as it was old. I eat a piece of it anyway, but nothing happens. We hang out for a while.

For some reason, kittenpants is not at the party (perhaps she is not a shapeshifter), but triadruid is. I lose sight of him at the party, and can't find him anywhere. Other people help me look, but he's gone. I have to drive the druidmobile home. I go pick up kittenpants and she is mad at me for losing him, but she knows where he is. We drive to the worst neighborhood in the City, rundown brownstones and pawn shops, one lone doughnut shop standing out. He's there, huddling behind a building, drunk like a damned fool. We scoop him up into the car, in the driver's seat. Somehow, though, I'm still driving. When we come around the front of the block, there are two cops hunched down on the sidewalk. We all duck, just when the shooting starts. There is a bit of a firefight, but everything passes over us and we drive away.

We drive home, which requires us to go through a tunnel or parking garage or other such construction that involves concrete above one's car. The slope is very steep, and I'm not sure the druidmobile will make it up through this thing, but we do. By this time, I'm in the front seat again, but I don't know how I got there. We drive by a beef jerky shop, and I think, "Damn, that's random". Then I wake up.
