Oaths update:
Jul. 22nd, 2004 11:26 amBecause I'm coming up on one of my yearly oathing points, it seems worthwhile to check in with what's going on in the oaths department. So here it is, by deity/person sworn to:
To Lugh:
- Learn at least three new skills every year. So this year I learned how to make simple clothes for monkeys, drive a stick shift, apply for unemployment in the state of Kansas, and work in a PR agency, which carries its own subset of skills. Before the oath expires (or switches over - I'm renewing this one again, as it's good for me and helps maintain this relationship) I'm also going to have to learn how to play the bard's role in ADF-style ritual. So I think I'm covered here.
To Lugh and the Ritual Teams:
- Learn a divination method and apply it in ritual. This one I'm not so hot on. I'm working with the tarot a bit, and I'm much better with it than I was (divination is so not my strong suit), but I'm not up to snuff with it yet. I have until Spring Equinox to get this one together though, and I think I'm making good progress.
To Oshun:
- Learn more Yoruba and Spanish. Perhaps be able to manage ritual phrases in one or both languages. At this moment, my entire Yoruba vocabulary consists of about 7 or 8 words, and one of them is ashe. So that could be better. Not that there are a lot of resources for this, but I could be putting in a little more effort here. Spanish is a little better, but not much. I have the resources to improve in both of these areas, but have not done so. Need to move, before Spring Equinox.
To Eris:
- Don't be a hidebound traditionalist assweed about ritual. I think I'm doing okay here as well, but will take criticism from the other ritualists. I'm trying. I hardly scream at all in Ritual Teams meetings anymore.
To the dwarves:
- Stop smoking entirely. Still with this one. Not a pinch of tobacco has passed my lips since last year.
To Gaia, Zeus, Helios, and whoever else showed up for Earth Day:
- To plant green stuff that was not for human consumption. Have not done a thing about this. Bleh.

Date: 2004-07-22 01:59 pm (UTC)No, I think you're wrong. This is my journal, which means that this room is arguments *and* flirting, and arguments *as* flirting.
I was really more interested in your tongue than your dirt, anyway.

Of course, I speak Spanish with a German accent, which makes me sound like a Nazi refugee...

Or, do what I do when I'm feeling lazy: Go to www.google.com and search for 'ntilde', and copy/paste the character that comes up on your screen. LiveJournal and most Word processors will import it just fine.
