I am going to a rock concert/festival. It seems to be the tenth time I've been to the show, and I seem to be in some way responsible for the show, as if I were an organizer or promoter. The concert is more than just a concert, it also has a number of large tents in which there are digital-film 'experiences' - they show you what life looks like from different perspectives. One is from the view of an ant, one from the view of a fire-eater, and there are others I don't recall. I spend most of my time at the shows here. The bands don't really interest me. The other thing that does interest me is a large sort of playground. There is a huge quantity of light purple sculptable material there, and people are tunnelling through it and building things with it. It reminds me of the mimoids in Solaris.

I get a call to go somewhere else - there is an emergency of some kind. I rush out of the purple stuff and get in my car. I try to pull out into the road, but traffic is at a standstill. A TV screen in my car informs me that the roads are all clogged due to traffic for the princess' funeral. I try to work out if the princess is dead, or if the queen is dead, and the princess is presiding over the funeral. From the news coverage, I can't tell.

I think about the ant-view, and the necessity of shifting and carrying large objects over my head. The cars on the road remind me of food, or eggs, or dirt, and I wonder if my ant-self can move them out of the way the same way.

Very media intensive ... I don't think I've heard had a movie/tv screen appear in a dream.

They playground seems interesting ... light purple heaps of play-doh, eh?

I'm not sure if the emergency and you being unable to get to where you need to be qualifies, but many dream interpreters would state a situation in which the dreamer, if first person, is helpless to do something they feel they need to is a statement the dreamer perceives himself/herself to be out of control, in a weakened state, or vulnerable and at the mercy of others.

Hrm... not so much like play-doh... more like Gak, except that it hardened more or less at will into something that reminded me of a foam sealant, you know, that yellow/orange stuff? Can't think what it's called. Come to think of it, that part too was very antlike. I think that makes the dead queen the hive queen.

And I didn't seem powerless in the traffic situation, just that I was going to have to switch modes in order to accomplish what I needed - the ants had already shown me how to do it, you know? I just had to apply the lesson somehow.

I was wondering about the hive bit ... the tunneling/building people ... perhaps even the milling of the people at the concert?

The view from the fire-eater, though ... that one throws me for a loop.

Sadly I only remember about one non-lucid dream per year, so I'm a little envious.

The fire-eater bit doesn't seem so important. It was mostly all about the ants. The more I think about it, the more ant-things there were.

This could be because I'm covered in bug bites. Or, it could be that my brain just wanted to tell me a story about ants. It's good for that.

I find that stating my intent to remember my dreams before I go to sleep almost always results in memory of at least part of the proceedings. That may just be me though - I'm making serious inroads on training my brain to behave the way I want it to.

If this is true, can I give you my brain (I keep in in a jar) to train for me. I can barely remember that I have dreamed, let alone WHAT I've dreamed about.

I don't think so, man. I'm pretty sure you have to process your own process. But I'd like to see your brain anyway, just in case.
