I have had a lot of trouble with my left knee for the last three years. Usually, it takes the form of pain going up and down stairs and stiffness. Today, it is not hurting or stiff, but is emitting a sound every time I take a step that sounds disturbingly like whirrrr....click.

I do not think that this could possibly be a good sign.

Hrm... I think I saw some regular old garden variety fish oil capsules about the house, but I'm guessing that wouldn't satisfy the recommendation... will look into the salmon oil - Thanks!

Also you can try Glucosamine/Chondroitin. It basically is supposed to lubricate the cartilage in your joints. My doctor recommended it for a ruptured disk in my back, but I've also noticed a great improvement in the flexibility of my knee, which I blew out skiing at age 16. I take it twice a day for the last six months and have noticed a definite improvement. If you want to try it take it for at least 30-60 days before it really kicks in.

I bought her two bottles of the stuff several months ago. They still haven't been opened.

They're in the Den of Iniquity, by the flowery metal wall clock.
