What is wrong with the world today, Part I

I have size 10 clothes in the closet that fit fine, and size 14 clothing that is too small.

Is just a little bit of standardization in women's clothing sizes too much to ask? You know, actually relating the size number to some measurement? If you're a man, and you're wondering why it takes women so much longer to buy clothes than it does you, I'm guessing that's part of your answer right there.

buy men's clothing

An old A former girlfriend discovered when rummaging through my closet for some clean clothes that some of my older jeans fit her very well ... as they no longer fit me, I gave them to her. Yeah, I'm real generous, I give away my cast-off clothing.

Turns out my "men's" jeans, wound up fitting better than any women's jeans she had found ... they wound up as a realistic pair of low-cut jeans (unlike most low-cut jeans that end up with a ridiculous amount of butt crack showing on most people). Looked fantastic, she got a lot of compliments wearing them. I was amazed that a straight cut men's jean would conform to a figure with that many curves, but it worked.

I think she just shops the men's department for jeans now, much easier to go in and buy any pair of 34x34 men's jeans that you know will fit rather than trying to figure out the bizarre sizing conventions used for women by clothing manufacturers.

I'm inclined to agree with this, for bottoms at least. You've got narrow enough hips that you're in the same position as my cousin Rachel (we can trade jeans, but she can't find a shirt that doesn't billow or look slutty due to chest size).

Of course, for work clothes you're gonna be SOL, since men's dress and women's dress clothes are pretty darn different...

Yup. For casuals, I have a pretty gender-neutral wardrobe. Guys' clothes often fit better, and generally are more likely to be colors that don't offend my eyes. Still, Utili-kilts aside, it's a little difficult to find men's skirts, and skirts seem to be the uniform of the day for job interviewing.

I've got some skirts that should fit you...and they'd go with black tops. Hardly any of them have flowers.

And in our spare time, we could re-calibrate some patterns and actually construct clothing for you. Imagine -- styles and fabrics you pick for yourself! We could label every one of them size "luscious."
