Go me!

I just had an interview that I feel like might actually lead somewhere, and didn't make me feel like the person interviewing me was in desperate need of cluebatting. In fact, I got a call for a follow-up within an hour of leaving the office. So, yeah. Go me. The job I'm interviewing for is with a fairly young and hungry natural gas and energy company that's in heavy acquisitions mode right now. Mmmm... acquisitions. I dig working with acquisitions. As [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants pointed out a few minutes ago, it's the closest legal and modern equivalent to piracy.
Anyway, it's the perfect job for me (I think) and the pay is very, very good. Downside would be that I'd have to dress a good bit better than I generally do, which is going to require some fairly extensive shopping trips if they hire me. I'm afraid I'm going to have to wear skirts and pantyhose on a fairly regular basis. But that's okay - the job sounds fabulous, and, as I mentioned, the pay scale is such that I would be willing to step outside my wardrobe comfort zone.
So yeah, if you've got some good luck to spare, and want to send it my way tomorrow morning, I'm interviewing at 9:00 a.m. Woot.

I have more clothes than would be appropriate for my obvious lack of fashion sense or current job requirements. Probably because my dressing requirements for jobs have been so far-ranging in their needs - I never throw away anything. I LOVE Savers out on Hillcrest. Massive quantities of cheap clothes and many are surprisingly formal and job-appropriate. I'd say start there and fill in the gaps at a "real" store.

Yep. I'm a huge fan of the thrift-store clothing. That will likely be my first stop.
