So Saturday night, for the purpose of distracting ourselves from the prevailing intellectual climate at EHQ (not that there's anything bad about the prevailing intellectual climate at EHQ, but it does tend to be rather, well, intellectual), [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants, [livejournal.com profile] triadruid and I went forth to see Club Dread, which is damned funny, if perhaps not as funny as Super Troopers (Which is the reigning all time favorite dumb funny movie at the moment).

And lo, we discovered that it may be true, what they say about people being inspired to do stupid things by watching stupid things being done in film. After the film, eating dinner, it dawned upon me that the perfect way to finish the evening would be to stage a cattle raid. And, predictably, the rest of the crew thought this to be a fine idea. After much discussion about what constituted a cattle raid, it was decided that we should proceed to the Turner Chaos Parade and make off with [livejournal.com profile] saffronhare and [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn's dog. And, so that they should know who was counting coup on them, and so that they should not worry overly about the location of their dog, we would leave them our dog in return.

So we went back to EHQ, got dressed appropriately (which is to say, I dressed as a pirate, [livejournal.com profile] triadruid dressed as a ninja, and [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants dressed as a gypsy), and bundled the chaos hound into the car. We got to the TCP, switched the dogs, and ran like hell... then realized that the gate hadn't been locked securely behind us, so our intrepid ninja had to go back and fix it.

A good raid was had by all, with only a few scratches to pay for it. The dog was returned the following day at the request of the Dragonling, who missed her. Sadly, this was before we'd had time to dye her fur in interesting colors, but as [livejournal.com profile] saffronhare is never one to suffer oneupmanship, I have no doubt that further pranking opportunities will ensue. :)

We were having a lot of fun, spoiling your Chaos Hound rotten. And I appreciate the finer points of your adventure. Just thinking about it makes me giggle in an embarrassingly girly way.

As for one-upping you? I don't know what you're talking about.

And the hare moves at the dark of the moon...swift, indiscriminate and all out of proportion with the threat.

::ahem:: Nevermind.

We could have kept her, but I think [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants is still somewhat horrified at the realization that we have one dog. Suddenly having *two* dogs might be over the top for her, cat person that she is.

Actually, one of the best parts of this whole adventure was telling [livejournal.com profile] zylch about it on sunday and her going "It's a good thing Nik didn't catch you - no telling what she might do if she caught a ninja in her yard..." ;)
