A parable, and a link
Aug. 22nd, 2005 01:09 pmFirst, a story:
"Once, a man drove his car over a cliff, quite accidentally. He jumped out of the car in midair, quite bravely, and caught onto a slender branch of a slender tree growing out of the rock, quite luckily. All above him was sheer rock, all below him was fog. So he hung on, and he raised his voice to the heavens, and said, 'Oh, if there is anybody up there, please send me a sign. Please tell me what to do!'. And a booming voice came down from above and said 'Let go of the branch!'. So the man thought about this, then raised his head again, saying, 'Um....if there's anybody else up there?'...."
And now, a link: Elementary school says "Kids don't know what this Pledge of Allegiance thing is about!" and writes own morning pledges.
Happy times.
