featherynscaleLast night, following the mother misadventure, and the sink misadventure, we decided that the only thing for it was explosives.
So we went down to the Crazy Joe fireworks tent, and proceeded to spend way more money on fireworks than seems reasonable or wise, and be unreasonably entertained by the names of the fireworks ("What's a 'Rubbing Bang'?" "Hey look, a 'Magic Whip'!", etc.).
I'm excited about fireworks, especially bottle rockets, mostly because most types of fireworks are illegal in Florida, so I never went through this phase as a kid. So I'm doing it now.
The purchase of fireworks of course led to the desire to set them all off immediately, or at least set off a few really soon. This led to the three of us wandering down the street, looking for a place to fire them. Then, there was this:

triadruid: We're such hooligans.
kittenpants: No we're not.
triadruid: We're wandering through the neighborhood looking for a place to blow things up, aren't we?
featherynscale: I don't think you're really hooligans until you knock over a trash can.

::triadruid picks up the chaff::
kittenpants: ::gestures to the side of the bridge:: Throw it over the yardarm.
triadruid: No, I'm going to take it home and throw it away.
featherynscale: See, we're not hooligans. Hooligans do not take it home and throw it away.
kittenpants: Yeah, did you ever hear of hooligans recycling?
