Vote early, vote often

Got up early this morning to participate in the ruins of the democratic process - the open primary rocks. I wanted to vote on all the parties' ballots, but they don't let you. Really, I was just happy to vote on one, which was cool, because as far as I recall, I'm registered Green, and we don't have a dog in the race at this point. Thanks much to triadruid who drove me to the polls even though I don't back the same Dem he does. Democracy in action.

Also, I took the hellhound in for surgery this morning. He's getting fixed. He will never voluntarily get in the car again, I just know it. He avenged himself pre-emptively, however, by peeing in the vet office lobby. Such are dogs.

Thanks to everybody who had nice things to say yesterday, and especially to breathofgold and iron_clad, who saved me from another day stuck in the house. I'm feeling much better today, and as the roads are pretty clear, I should be able to get out and about without a problem. I really can't manage this "in the house for days without leaving" thing. Memo to self - get out every other day, at least. It keeps your brain from deflating.

yeah, just remember i am home all the time during the day so even if you just get out and come over here to hang it's still getting out. plus i get company that way.

My home state lets me pick which of several party ballots to cast in primaries because I am not registered as belonging to any of them. I chose Democrat this time around, too. Our primary isn't until March, though.

Yeah, rub it in. I don't get to vote in a primary, since I'm in one of the oddball parties with few enough people that we just petition our candidates onto ballots ...

Hey, move to Missouri. They'll let you vote for anybody. As far as I recall, I'm registered Green, which while not as small as say, Natural Law, is pretty dinky in the grand scheme of things. In Missouri, apparently it doesn't matter. You just ask for a ballot and they let you vote. Yay, Missouri!

If I recall correctly, Missouri also has a habit of electing dead people to office. Strange, those Missourans are...

Hey, I can think of any number of offices that would be better filled by the dearly departed than by the ladies and gentlemen holding them now... can't you?
