Pet marketing, and the evils thereof

There are a lot of objectionable things about my job and the work I do, but my review of today's mail, which included the October issue of several pet marketing publications has given me a valuable tool in coping. All I have to do is remember that at no point does my job require me to dress dogs in Elvis costumes with Doggles (Doggles are glasses for dogs. I shit you not). Therefore, my job could not possibly be that bad.

I don't understand the urge to clothe one's dog. A doggie sweater on a hairless breed, I can sort of see, but in general, just for appearence? Seriously, who thinks dogs enjoy this?
