Things that are pissing me off:

1. Spoonfeeding the web to people who ought to know how to manage it. I am not a web genius, nor even especially web geeky. (My geekiness tends to occur in other areas.) Why then, must I spend a fair portion of my day explaining such esoteric concepts as blogs, dynamic content, and usenet to people whose eyes glaze over and who nod at random to imply that they're listening? Granted, my ability to do this is probably why I still have a job, which is a whole other issue, but jeebus.

2. Form over function. Still pissed because yesterday I spent two hours bloating a report to the point where the information it contained became so vague and/or inaccessible that the thing now is essentially useless. The reason we're getting paid to do this project is so that we can distill vast amounts of data into relevant information, not so we can impress the client with how much raw data we have.

3. Being asked what something is when it is obvious what it is. If I have to answer another question this week that comes in the form "What is this stack labelled _______?" when the phrase that fills in the blank is also the answer to the question, I may well be on the top of a nearby tower with a high-powered weapon by Friday.

I ought to post three things I'm pleased with, in order to provide balance, but they're not so much coming to mind. At least, things that are unique about today that I am pleased with are not coming to mind. This is one of those "count your blessings" days.

EDIT: Happy thing #1: Our hosting company just migrated the stats server program for one of our websites to a server that is *actually online*! So now, I can get site stats for all the sites! Yay!
