Finally got enough sleep last night to do some dreaming - not a full night's sleep, but in big enough chunks to be useful, apparently. (Of course, I dreamt that [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn was my Dad, which was fairly disturbing, but still - any dream is better than no dreams, from a mental-processing standpoint). Based on last night's experiments, I believe that I'm not sleeping because of a)brain floods, and/or b)dehydration. So if I can shut off the mental chatter and drink more water before I go to bed, presumably I can sleep.

(Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] triadruid for helping me shift my focus to something external (breaking the feedback loop) and for bringing a glass of water down (which made me think "Hrm... perhaps I should go get my own glass" when I woke up and wandered about in the middle of the night.)

that might be or it could be this...

Uranus’ move into Pisces could see some of us finding it harder to sleep through the night (expect some bizarre dreams) and could herald more chaos related to religion (or, fingers crossed, one almighty turnaround where religion is concerned). On a personal note, the planets are encouraging us to prepare for change, to catch our breath and be constructive and optimistic.

Mercury starts to go forwards again on January 6.

Ok, that would explain some of the freaky and downright disturbing dreams I've been having lately. Nice to know there's at least some external cause for it.

I haven't gotten a whole lot of sleep either. As a matter of fact, I'm currently surviving on about 5 hours in the last few days. I'm thinking it may be due to the fact that I go to bed too late, I worry about money, I worry about mean judges, and I worry about my kids. It could be a combination of all the above, and the stars too. Something to think about.

So do you have the kids on the 17th?

My calendar says "Nothing" all day, and I'm going to stick to it - including worrying!

Yup, got kids, eye appointments, ritual team meeting and a party that afternoon. Ain't life grand. You think I could fit a few more things in my day??

Okay, maybe not that day, but you should find a day off. *smooch*

You get lost in your head also?

Hopefully the cycle is broken enough you can roam a bit more freely, mentally, including into slumber.

Pretty frequently. Usually, though, I'm grounded enough that most of the processes are related to an external goal (Here I'm talking about creativity - a storm of mental activity that produces something), but the less sleep I get, the more inner-directed and disconnected the processes seem to get, so that by yesterday afternoon, a disturbing proportion of my mental energy was engaged in singing "Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sell-Outs" inside my head... so much force, so little purpose.
Today, though, mostly back to normal ratios.

All joking aside, I'm glad to hear that you are sleeping better. It's tough to function when you don't get enough sleep.

I as well have had trouble getting to sleep this past month; It takes me atleast an hour to relax; which is one of my reasons to resumming my energy practice; as I could tell I've been out of balance for far too long and it was beginning effect my moods; often in the form of a functional depression... Glad to hear your regaining some rest ;).

You remind me

That was another thing that I noticed - I couldn't hold a visualization for anything... Not even a simple figure. I'm hoping that that's a product of the insomnia, though.
More practice more practice more practice.
