Storms and Cake
Feb. 1st, 2004 01:09 amSo apparently we're supposed to be having the ice storm of the century right now... or maybe tomorrow... or maybe not at all. So I'm hoping that we'll be able to do Gaia tomorrow, but it's sort of up to the storm system right now, I suppose. It'd be a shame if we didn't get to go, because then
kittenpants,
triadruid,
zylch and I would have to eat all of the Drunken Monkey Cake.... and that would be tragic.
1 box white cake mix
1 pint Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey ice cream, melted
3 eggs
1 banana
cinnamon powder
butter
brown sugar
rum
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a bundt pan.
Mix cake mix, melted ice cream, eggs, banana and cinnamon. This will yield an alarmingly thick batter. That's okay.
Pour into pan, bake 40-45 minutes.
When cake has cooled, melt butter in a saucepan. Add brown sugar and cinnamon. Cook on medium heat until it sort of congeals a bit. Add 1-2 shots of rum. Continue to cook until smooth, pour over cake.
Still experimental, but should be tasty. I'll let you know how it turns out.
