kcwitch is back from her trip to the great state of Florida and informs me of this sad fact: Not only do the ride operators on Pirates of the Caribbean no longer wear the bad-ass pirate socks, but they don't even wear pirate costumes anymore. Apparently, Disney has moved that part of the work-force to an uninteresting burgundy uniform. Bastards. Micheal Eisner, this is unacceptable. Michael, I blame you for a general degradation of all that Disney stands for, a crimson list of crimes against humanity: direct-to-video releases of fairy-tale "sequels", cutting detail from animation to speed the release process, and now this. Now this. I don't know how you sleep at night, sir.
