Broke down and bought the Potter book. I was ordering books anyway (had to pick up Antero Alli's Angel Tech for [livejournal.com profile] lexpendragon's book club...), and Barnes and Noble online is doing a free shipping thing...

And, of course, I got it though iGive, so Gaia Community gets a cut. (Stealthy plea to support church, yo.)

Of course, I already know how it ends, courtesy of some jackweed posting sans cut in a community I belong to, but I'm not hugely alarmed by spoilers. I sort of use them as milestones ("Oh, yeah, that's how that happens. I was wondering how they were going to get there."). And it does go on the bottom of the reading list, after all the library books and the book club books, and the books we've borrowed from [livejournal.com profile] orcjohn and [livejournal.com profile] capriciouslass. So by the time I get around to it, I'll probably have forgotten the spoilers anyway.

I read a lot of spoilers, hardly any of which panned out :)
I think either I, or they, misinterpreted events, simply forgot, or were being assholes and posted what they wanted.

Finished Harry, now I need the Angel Tech, too. I was expecting to order it, do you have a link so I could allow Gaia to get a cut from when I order it, too?

Sorry, I totally failed to answer this the other day. If you're still interested, here's the spiel -- iGive is a shopping portal very much like some of the things that give one reward points or whatnot, except that iGive's draw is that in order to participate, stores promise to give a portion of the proceeds from your purchase to a charity of your choice. So Gaia has an account with them (I think I'm the only one using it, but they have one). In order to donate some of your online shopping money to Gaia (or anybody - all sorts of charities and non-profits are involved), go to igive.com and set up an account. It will allow you to search for a charity to sponsor, and then any time you go through their site to make a purchase, money goes into that charity's account.
