I talk to some of you guys pretty regularly by IM -- normally this is no kind of problem, but lately I have been plagued with random persons trying to get my attention for no good reason whatsoever at all. In order that I might not spend a large portion of time trying to figure out whether or not I know these random people, I've re-assigned my IM settings to only allow people on my list to contact me.

Therefore, if you want to IM me, that's cool, but if you haven't talked to me in that way before, please leave me a note here with your service and username so I can add you to my contact list. Thanks!

Don't think we've spoken that way, but Yahoo is the usual Gaelic transiliteration, and MSMessenger changes all the time, as the mood strikes me. Currently, it's "I wish I knew how to quit you, Bert!" with accompanying icon. Should we need to chat.
