Fairly meaningless updates

There's a new IT guy today. I have talked to him twice, and he is already my favorite person in the building. Of course, the last new IT guy was my favorite person in the building, too, so maybe I'm just happier around geeky guys. Could be. Or, it could be that the two conversations we've had have been about jacking with the government and geek porn, respectively. Or, maybe those two reasons are the same reason.

Nobody in the building is the least bit productive today. I've also gotten to talk about home brewing, moonshine, absinthe, and hot sauce with my co-workers this afternoon. Flay and Barquentine have already gone home. All in all, very pleasant.

I also got a call from my doctor today. They want to reduce the level of my thyroid hormone supplements, which I argued against strenuously, but they were unmoved. I've really enjoyed not being cold these last few months, but apparently that's going to go away now. On the other hand, they said my ANA level was "better", whatever that means. I told them I had been trying very hard not to have lupus. They said, good job, then, keep it up. So it looks like maybe instead of having a new and exciting chronic disorder that will one day kill me, I just have the same old chronic disorder that had its chance to kill me and failed already. They do want to check again in two months, though, just in case.

Hehe...I remember when I wasn't on it for a time last year...about 3 months all told..then suddenly went back on. I was frighteningly enthusiastic there, for a while. :D

At least the not-being-cold will go away at about the time when the weather starts getting warmer, so the net change won't be much. Me, I've been on the .125 for a week and a half now, and I've yet to notice Any. Difference. At. All. ::grumble::
