[livejournal.com profile] gamera_spinning is my hero of the day! He came over and brought me comic books!

Sadly, this was before I'd managed to get dressed for the day. So, continuing apologies for that :-/

She says this as if it were a bad thing.

Right. Last I checked, a girl showing herself in a state of undress was a bonus, not a thing to apologize for.

Comic books? I have those...

What kind do you like to read? I have some brutal and viscious stuff that may, in fact, float your boat. The original Predator series, AVP: Deadliest of the Species, some of the other Predator storylines that never made it to film but made good books. I'm sure you're not shocked by this.

I actually kind of have a hard time with comic books, anymore. I mostly stopped reading them in college, when I could no longer afford to keep up with all the storylines I was interested in, what with all the crossovers and whatnot. I like the graphic medium, though, and seriously enjoy graphic novels and short-run, self-contained comic series.

[livejournal.com profile] gamera_spinning happened to have the whole series of these, though, so I figured I could hack that :)

Generally, when I do read them, though, I prefer stories that are more inclined towards the mythological/supernatural and weird. I like most monster books (of course), also stuff like the Sandman, Swamp Thing, John Constantine, etc. I don't know that I have ever read any of the Alien or Predator ones. Are they fun?

Depends. Some people are offended by that sort of thing, and generally until I know which category someone falls in, I'll act as if they're in the "offended" column. It's all polite, and stuff. :)

Certainly they are fun!

They may not be fantastical, but there is viscious killing and lots of blowedy uppedy kaboomish stuff. Colonial marines are good for that. For that matter, Predators are better. There is usually a dark undercurrent of corporate scheming and government research to help round things out. You'd like the woman who survives in the AVP storyline. She's badass!

Not in the least, and to be fair, you did have a bathrobe on.
