Is pajama the preferred international spelling? I thought it was chiefly United States, and pyjama internationally.

Isn't there a difference, though? My understanding has always been that "pajamas" button up in the front, while "jammies" go over the head like long-sleeved t-shirts and have booties at the end of the legs.

I prefer the two-piece variety to the single-suit variety, but both are pretty comfy and keep my feet off the cold floor, which is very, very important in my world.

Also, I am assured by saffronhare that I am the sexiest woman in the world in footie pajamas. This is not because I get any sexier with the addition of footies, but because everyone else immediately becomes less sexy upon putting them on, but I do not. I am not sure that is true, but it's a hell of a line.

I do also own fluffy Chthththtullyu slippers, but thinking about putting slippers on is not a thing that often occurs to me first thing in the morning. Common sense is, in fact, one of the last systems to come online.
