Stunning realization of the day for yesterday: I own an entire tuxedo. That fits. And looks good. Rawk. Now I know what I'm wearing on Saturday.

Also, we managed to rent [livejournal.com profile] triadruid a tuxedo on Very Short Notice. So none of us have to go to the party naked, yay. The tux shop guy was extremely patient with our bullshit, and didn't even flip out when we told him what we wanted the tux for.

Unrelated to tuxedos, there's a movement afoot for a Brain Weasel Stomping Day this Friday. I don't always play on 'Everybody blog about this' days, but I do like to share the love. And maybe you do too, so make with the clicky.

First up, an 'internet reputation engine' - http://www.rapleaf.com
These folks compile 'ratings' on a person behind an email address, based on personal recommendations, length of stable time with an address, buy/sell/trade/whatnot transactions, and some other stuff which is less clear to me. Interesting concept, unsure how it works. Have emailed a Dan and asked if there's a list available of where they're compiling data from. Might be a longer post on this later, for now, just playing with it. So you could go and tell them if you think I'm trustworthy or not, if you're so inclined. (This is me, not putting up a poll on whether or not people think I'm trustworthy.)

Second, http://www.upscoop.com -- a social network compiler from the same folks. Will search your email contacts or a manually input list and tell you if those addresses are registered to any number of websites. Yep. If you're an email contact for me, I now know all your dirty social networking secrets (i.e. whether or not you are on MySpace).

Third, unrelated to the other two: Beyond Countless Doorways, a planar-travel sourcebook from some of the folks who wrote Planescape, Back In The Day. If you've played in one of my D&D games, you may be aware that I have a planar travel fetish (in the clinical sense -- my brain doesn't seem to be able to get it up for campaign design unless there's a possibility for planehopping in there somewhere). So I'm interested in acquiring this little item for furthering player torment. Perhaps I'll buy it for myself as a birthday present.

From [livejournal.com profile] lilia_blackbear, a good excuse to be er... crafty.

Here's the deal:
I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don't know what that gift will be yet, but I promise you will receive it within 365 days. The only thing you have to do in return is "pay it forward" by making the same promise on your blog.

Actually, that's not quite true. I don't make very many different kinds of things, so I'm pretty sure I know at least generally what it will be. But the rest of it applies.
