featherynscale: Schmendrick the magician from The Last Unicorn (dragoncon)
2.5 hours until I can leave, then pick up [personal profile] triadruid, run home, pack the last few things, and then hop in the Minivan Galactica to brave the 13-hour trip to Geektopia DragonCon. On the inside, I'm dancing. Fortunately, there's rather a lot of outside between the dancing and the real world, so everyone's spared that. :)

Last night I acquired a gig of memory for the digital camera -- at a reasonable resolution, that's 799 shots of stormtroopers, Jack Sparrows, and women in caution tape we're talking about. For the $15 investment, not bad at all. Also, managed to talk payroll into handing over my check a day early, and talked the bank into accepting it a day early, giving me a bit of walking-around money. So that doesn't suck, either. Half the costume concepts didn't come to be, and some of the imagined schtick will have to stay in the closet until next year, but hey -- I can take pictures and spend money unwisely, and what else do you need?

So I'm out for the weekend, back on Tuesday. What dangers will we face? What adventures will we encounter? Will we rescue [personal profile] kittenpants from the Ravening Abyss Art Show? Will the fearsome state of Tennessee rise up and claim [personal profile] triadruid for its own? Will we drink enough that it seems like a good idea to go to Klingon Karaoke*? For the answers to these and many other questions, tune in next week. Same bat-time, same bat-channel.

* - Regrettably, empirical evidence suggests that the number of drinks it takes for Klingon Karaoke to be funny rather than horrifying is only about 2.5.
