First off, Happy Valentine's Day to everybody out there who enjoys that sort of thing. Those who don't are free to skip this part of the message and move on down to the next part...

Secondly,.last night, I dreamed that a) Super Roommate J had become a dismembered monster and was crawling around in bits outside my door (which was alarming) and b) that [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants had met up again with some boy that she was friends with in high school (his name was Craig) who she was for some reason contractually obligated to marry (which was even more alarming). She really seemed to be taken with him, too, and was pleased to go through with it. I sort of wandered around and was a bridesmaid, and tried to figure out how this was all going to work, being as she was already married to [livejournal.com profile] triadruid and all that. The ceremony was a sort of thrown-together, must-do-this-right-now thing, and involved eating a lot of pudding. She wore the Arianrhod dress. He showed up in a ratty Depeche Mode t-shirt. The bridesmaids (me and [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants' brother) wore grey. [livejournal.com profile] triadruid seemed cool with her marrying another guy, but started to balk at moving him into EHQ... And then I woke up, and went, as I often do first thing in the morning, What the Fuck.

Thirdly, it has come to pass that Super Roommate J and I are collecting the tabs off of pop cans, so that we might make recycled scale-maille objects. If you happen to drink things with pop tabs that are colored, we would greatly appreciate it if you would keep the tabs and give them to us. Fun with trash, that's our way, apparently.

[livejournal.com profile] matchgirl42 had the brilliant idea to do one day at DragonCon this year as Discworld characters. We figure we can get her as Granny Weatherwax, me as Nanny Ogg, and [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants as Magrat, which gives us a solid three witches. I think I've even got most of the costume bits for Nanny Ogg already, although I will need some bloomers, preferably in a purple pornographic print (say that 3x fast!). [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants can go all new agey and crystal-covered -- I think we can put together hers without any difficulty too.

[livejournal.com profile] wildnsquirrelly, if he should go, has been drafted to go as Greebo, in leather pants and a rakish eyepatch. Everybody likes that, and it gives him the opportunity to flirt or menace, as he prefers.

Of our group, this only leaves [livejournal.com profile] triadruid. What character should he dress as, do you think?

EDIT: Oh, a wizard's staff has a knob on the end... )

I have to admit that one of the reasons for this morning's first post was to include the SiteMeter button. What this does is, like most counting things, tracks views of the entry. Why? Curiosity, mostly. I am a data whore. And also because it looks at where you're reading from, and then generates a list of servers and a world map.

Now, I really don't care how many people read me. I have a pretty good idea of that already. They're mostly on my flist. That's all good. But I have enjoyed looking at where people are reading from. This morning's post got hits from Poland and somewhere the former USSR, Italy, France and so on and so forth. That's kind of neat.

But it's not what really tripped me about the dataset. What I really want to know is who out there is reading me from these servers, all of which appeared in my listings:

- house.gov
- customs.gov
- osd.mil
- prisonstripsearch.com

Anyway, it's kind of a neat toy.
