Elections and related unpleasantness
Oct. 22nd, 2004 08:54 amFirst, in a story called to my attention by
nfin8ndefn8, Hunter S. Thompson is still my hero. There he is, in Rolling Stone, calling G.W. Bush "The Syphillis President". Not exactly high political discourse, but exquisitely phrased as always. I really struggle not to read Thompson out loud - there's a rhythm to his writing that demands to be spoken.
In other news, it may not be the U.N., but this election does come with international observers, and they're unimpressed.
Closer to home,
kittenpants and I are still struggling over what to wear to the Bush Flaunt. It's something of a shame that a household that owns a Nazi staff coat, a Pope hat, and a fair approximation of an English foxhunting outfit can't figure out what to wear to a political satire, but there you have it.
Also worth including: Ann Coulter vs. Pies!
