Fun and Games with Japanese Food
Jun. 25th, 2004 01:18 pmApparently, I need to pay more attention to my food. As I distractedly scooped my leftovers from the Japanese steakhouse onto a plate, I failed to notice the big-toe sized lump of wasabi that I'd placed in the side of the leftovers box, turning it under an innocent-looking portion of rice. I had, in fact, forgotten about the wasabi altogether, until I was just as distractedly shovelling rice into my mouth. At some point during this process, I grabbed the greenish glob and popped the entire thing into my mouth at once. Mmmm.... wasabi. I had an immediate understanding of what holy-rolling possession must be like - jumping, shouting, smacking the table with the palm of my hand, all while speaking in tongues unknown to mortal man, but almost entirely translatable into profanity. It was a truly enlightening experience. My sinuses are fine now, thank you.
