Parades and Masks and Con, oh my!
Apr. 29th, 2003 09:22 amYesterday was a good day. All the parade invitations got sent out, and we started picking up props and costumery for the thing as well. US Toy has a fabulous new line of cheap masks in their costume shop - they look like Venetian carnival masks, but are made of sturdy plastic lined with cloth. Instead of being attached by a string, these are mounted on cloth-covered headbands, and the mask swings down to cover the face. I bought one for wear in the parade, but I may have to go back and get a few more in different styles. One can never have too many masks.
Also,
gamera_spinning's post about Ray Bradbury being a guest at this year's DragonCon inspired me to go to the con website to see who else was going to be there. This forced me to actually look at the dates and see that it's over Labor Day weekend, so I actually *do* have enough vacation days to make a reasonable trip to Atlanta for the Con! Woot! Let me say it again: Woot!
