Fossil fuels for the impatient

Thermal depolymerization makes organic waste into oil. There's a model plant in Pennsylvania doing it, and soon there will be a commercial plant in Carthage, MO.

So we can turn waste into fuel - there's gotta be a catch to this somewhere...

Very interesting stuff. I would imagine the catch may well be the cost of the processing, what it takes to heat the system, etc.
