Is that so wrong?

For some reason, when I see posts with text like this:
"HELLO KANSAS CITY PEOPLE
is there anything amazingly good going on this year for new year's?"

it makes me want to post comments like, "Well, we're sacrificing a goat over at our house..." And I'm pretty sure that's a poor idea.

But then I get email from HR that says things like "Those reviewers who fail to finish all their evaluations on time risk their own eligibility to receive a pay increase this year...not to mention the fiery pits of hell..." and I wonder how relevant my personal content filters actually are.

Funny this rant comes right after mine on the excting nature of KC.

Is there anything going on in KC for New Years? Yeah, it's called Hooter's Air, catch a flight to New York and hang with Dick Clark.

I myself have a New Day's Eve celebration every night. I sit down with a beer, make a list of all the things I resolve to do the next day, and think about how lucky I am that the day didn't turn out worse. Sort of like the ending clip from Mork & Mindy or Doogie Howser, what did I figure out today, and how does that knowledge make tomorrow easier to bear?

Not *a* goat, just *some* goat (that's a partitive "some", not an indefinite one.) Really, I'm amazed and entertained that everyone else is more hung up on this goat thing than I am.

It's inevitable. We've had "that thing with the chickens - never do that again" as a recurring joke for long enough that "that thing with the goat" is an appealing joke as well.

Wait, he threatened hell? Religious disposition aside, I want to work with that man.

I wish I had the original email - he basically promised special dispensation for sins for those who turned in the evals on time, and threatened fire, brimstone and apocalypse for those who didn't. It was priceless.

His words have moved me, I wish to subscribe to his news letter.
