Quick question:

Worse offense against reason and the cosmos:

- Getting a myspace account in order to download music from band promo pages
OR
- Hijacking someone else's myspace account in order to download same?

Discuss.

Whereas a MySpace account is merely kinda lame, jacking somebody else's account so you can keep up the pretense of not having a MySpace is cheap and sleazy--and kinda lame.

It's your call.

I think I'd rather be cheap, (sl)eazy, and kinda lame rather than all-the-way lame. Hijacking someone else's account, well, that's sorta like sharing, and I'm all about sharing. And about minimizing the number of people who have to configure their myspace accounts.

I totally vote for Option 1 as being a worse offense.

Agreed. If you jack someone else's account, at least you're not adding to the total number of lame MySpace pages (which doesn't need any help - and I say this as a part-owner of a MySpace page).

See... I was going to say the opposite.

Oh just get the myspace page... ;) it's not like you have to friend anyone. And you can set it to "friends only" so that people can't randomly add you. (No one need ever know) It will be our little secret. Mwwwaahhaaahhaaa

But seriously, owning a myspace page doesn't mean you need to use it. I got one to be able to read and comment to a friend's entries before she passed away. I still use it from time to time, but I never post anything there.

I dunno... posting a LiveJournal entry to ask about the relative lameness of various uses of MySpace is pretty far up there on my list of Offenses Against Reason and the Cosmos.

I make no comment as to where "commenting on aforesaid entry" falls on that list.

I think the offense against reason is having a myspace account of any sort.

Just a curmudgeonly observation....
