An Exhibition of Historical Interest

As a public service to the readers of this journal, we present:

The infamous 'pyramid hat'.

Rather dashing, don't you think?

The hat of Aleister Crowley as a young man.

Apparently feeling exceptionally multicultural, he dons a turban.

And then, a fez.

Neither of which match the grandeur of the Mason Hat.

According to the owners of the website I pulled this picture from, Uncle Al used this hat to send 'hate vibrations' into Watts, with the goal of driving out all black people from the country. Hey, I just report the news.

This hat, on the other hand, was clearly aimed to annoy fashion designers.

Sometimes, he also liked to pretend to be Sherlock Holmes.

We round out our exhibition with a rather sedate, yet dapper topper. Nice choice, I thought.

I hope you have enjoyed our exhibition of The Many Hats of Aleister Crowley. We now return to the regularly scheduled LiveJournal programme of angst, whining, drama, event flyers for things you can't go to, and pictures of boobs.

I would totally do door #3.

I can say things like his now :)

I mean- not NOW that he's probably incontinent or deceased, but that's a pretty smart lookin' feller.

Or maybe I'm having a LOTR moment:

Deceased would be accurate. That picture would have been taken around 1910. :)
