Tarot Playlist Part Two: Cups

OK, I'm not known for finishing what I start, but I try to get at least halfway through before becoming distracted with something else shiny.

There are actually a couple of songs on this part of the list that I don't care for. See if you can spot them: the rule is, "I am sick of the Eagles." And yet, couldn't come up with anything that captured my sense of it any better. Oh well.

Ace - "Love, Reign o'er Me" - The Who
2 - "Somebody" - Depeche Mode
3 - "Don't Stay Home" - 311
4 - "I Drink Alone" - George Thorogood and the Destroyers
5 - "I Grieve" - Peter Gabriel
6 - "Pure" - The Lightning Seeds
7 - "Dreamer" - Supertramp
8 - "Ball and Chain" - Social Distortion
9 - "Life's Been Good" - The Eagles
10 - "Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

*shrug* I love the Eagles. Likewhoa. Good correspondences though, given what I know about the cards.

There is an alternate universe, in which I love the Eagles. In that universe, I do a mean karaoke rendition of Desperado. But, see, in that universe, I didn't spend two weeks over the summer of my 12th or 13th year on the planet trapped in a car on "family vacation" with my feuding parents and The Eagles Live as one of the three available cassette tapes. We were in Arizona and New Mexico. Do you know how many radio stations there are in Arizona away from Phoenix or Flagstaff? Not very many, I can tell you. And so, the Eagles. Over and over and over again. And that is why, despite any particular musical merit they may possess, I can never love the Eagles.

I have that same experience with Johnny Cash...

More for me. And by that, I only mean Don Henley. *grin*

you know, i've been thinking of doing something like this to reflect certain initiatory experiences according to the sephiroth and paths.

If you are working from an "everything is connected to everything else" sort of perspective (and you're a Kabbalist, so I know you are...), this could be very helpful. It's been massively useful to me already.
