Welcome to the new year. There's lots of stuff to do.

The order of the week at EHQ is, well, order. It runs counter to our natural tendencies (like everything else in the universe we tend towards disorder over time, and we do it a lot faster than many things), but it has to be done from time to time. So far, we've purged the bookshelves of all duplicate and unwanted books, cleaned out the fridge (scary fridge!), gone through the spice and tea cabinets and gotten rid of anything that was no longer usable (one of the criteria often referenced was "Did this come from someone's apartment?"), and done some cleaning and filing in the office.

Still to do:Read more... )

Also, Sadly:

I don't think I can do Santa Flaunt after all. We were going to do it on 1/13, but now [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants and I have to be in St. Louis that day. The next best day was 1/20, but apparently the Kansas City Mystery School is meeting that night and will need to be fed dinner. That sort of squeezes out the Flaunt, I think. If other people would like to do the Flaunt, they are welcome to do so, but I don't think we can come. :(

It's very cool that we are stepping up our involvement in the greater pagan community and getting to do some teaching in other places, but I can see that this will mean less time for general fun. Why can't we get more weeks in the year, I ask you?

The Giant Rabbit Post

It's amazing how often the phrase "giant rabbit" comes up in conversation. I never noticed this until we watched Donnie Darko on New Year's Eve. We hadn't seen it before, as unlikely as that sounds.

And now, everywhere, giant rabbits. xkcd was recently about Jimmy Carter being attacked by a giant rabbit, the Neverwinter Nights forum folk use giant bunny rabbits in their examples of how online roleplaying might go, I've just asked [livejournal.com profile] zylch to take her giant rabbit home when she comes back to the US... they're everywhere. I realize that this is because the attentional switch marked 'giant rabbits' has been turned on in my brain, and in reality there are giant rabbits everywhere all the time, and I just don't notice them, but hey. It's fun, anyway.

So, seen any giant rabbits lately?
