I am So Good.

I am so good that when our insurance broker called me just a minute ago to say that the health insurance company we were negotiating with (which I will not name, but which starts with a C and ends with an A and has the first part of a word for SET ON FIRE in the middle) refused to even consider our group because we have too many female employees, I did not say, "Well, tell them if they'll cover my SRS we'll have one less."

That is how good I am.

HEADDESK.

Sex-change. Except they don't call it sex-change anymore, and for that matter, I don't think they call it SRS (sex reassignment surgery) anymore either, but I don't remember what the word for it is now.

Ah, thank you for explaining that because, see, here in KS, SRS stands for Social Rehabilitation Services... you know, food stamps and welfare, so the comment made absolutely No Sense to me upon first reading it.

I was right with ya man... and it was even odder, with K. being a devout non-breeder. 8-0

How is that even legal?

Geesh.

Same way that auto insurance companies can charge you more if you're male, and/or under 25. Statistically, the risk for one demographic is higher than the other. I mean, you know, there are a whole lot of uteruses (uteri?) in this agency that could be spewing forth babies at any time -- hordes of babies, roaming the plains, demanding that the insurance company provide the service we pay them for! That sort of thing cuts profit margins, and in these uncertain times, we can't be having with that.

I know as a woman I'm more likely to get certain diseases than a man. I also know as a woman, I'm more likely to catch a disease early and seek preventative treatments.

Ugh. This country, I swear.

Do they check if any of the woman have had those organs removed or 'disconnected' before making that decision?

We can has health insurance? NO!

Maybe if Obama gets elected and gets his government pool thing passed, maybe in a year we can have health insurance again.

Bastards.

And people wonder why I consider humanity to be a worthless pack of cunts.

I worked for that company for 7 years. The coverage they offer their employees sucked major ass too. There were other companies in the area that had it that had better coverage and lower premiums than what we were paying. We always said it was a "Business of Caring...unless you work for them."

Good to see nothing's changed since I left.
