Ah, car.

Indeed. Two hoses, a seal, and a coolant flush & fill. Somewhere in the $250-300 range. Not ideal, but not unbearably painful either. They can do the repair today.

[livejournal.com profile] triadruid, can you come get me a bit early (4:30-5ish) so that we can be sure to get there and pick him up before they close?

Well I am very glad it was something they could fix. That's a lot of money though. Sheesh.

It's not so much a lot of money that trading in the car seems like a better deal, though. The car is 10 years old, and has almost 180,000 miles. I paid it off in 2003, I think. So my paradigm for thinking about it is a little different than it used to be.

I got my oil changed this morning after dropping you off, and had my own coolant system cycled, just in case. :)

You're a very clever boy, I've always said so.

Ouch. Well, look on the bright side, $250-$300 is way more cheaper than a new(er) vehicle...

Still, ouch.

Glad to hear he's going to make it!!!
