that reminds me of something that happened to me in college.

no, i helped feed the rope... a friend of mine decided to repel from 11 stories up because it was his last night in the dorms. the police rolled by half way down, but i guess the chose to ignore him.

That's even better. I did my share of rooftop adventuring in college too, but sadly, it never involved rappelling.

Yes, actually. Some day when you're not expecting it, though.
There could be monkeys involved.

[identity profile] kenllama.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)

whence comes this comic, btw?

(and will there be balderdash scoring soon? i had a great balderdash topic yesterday, and i wish i could remember what it was. if i do, i'll suggest it unto you sometime soon... i think it was a made-up word for which i couldn't think of a satisfactory definition.)

[identity profile] featherynscale.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It's from XKCD (http://xkcd.com/), which you totally should be reading already :) He alternates between this sort of thing and geek humor, with the occasional velociraptor.

Also, balderdash -- I should post that. I'll try to get that up this afternoon.

[identity profile] kenllama.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
is it available as an LJ feed? i have this problem with non-fed comics, in that i will go for weeks without making time to read them...

i've seen a bunch of xkcds before, but i've never seen one in color. i think i've mostly seen the generally geekery ones.

this comic totally made my day (along with the 25 new computers at work, replacing 8 year old POSs...)

feed...

answering my own question, yes there is an xkcd feed:

Yep, that's how I read it. It has nothing like a regular posting schedule.

[identity profile] leiandra.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay. You're creepy. You're the second person to post that comic on my friends list in like 3 hours.

I second the llama. Wanna drop by my window? It's even ground floor. Non-opening though.

[identity profile] featherynscale.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
But isn't it the best comic ever?
And we might do! We're going through Tennessee soon, you know.

[identity profile] leiandra.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately, I'm a wee bit out of the direct line of travel now. I'm in East TN instead of Middle.
