Never a good sign.

Monday begins like this: a minivan and a disproportionate number of cops off on the side of the highway. [livejournal.com profile] triadruid observes this tableau. "Gotta watch those criminal minivans," he says.

"Could be full of ninjas. You can fit a lot more ninjas in a minivan than a Civic," I say. At this point, I feel the rising waters of the absurd, and make a grab for something anchoring. "Or dope. You could fit a lot of dope in a minivan." But it's too late. I start to giggle madly. "Or, you know, doped-up ninjas."

He gives me that even, solid, grounding look. It is to no avail. "Cops hate stoned ninjas," he says, "It's a lot of paperwork, and they giggle."

This is how Monday begins. And it's not gotten much more rational since.

So does this mean cops=pirates? Because that would be odd...

Nah, it just means that the pirate is not the only natural enemy of the ninja.

YOU SPEAK LIES BLASPHEMER

Pirate vs. Ninja is the ONLY true diatonic clash of mad opposing factions.

Bah. It is a complex world, and I tell you that while pirates hate ninjas, so also do robots hate ninjas, and even unto wizards, who hate pirates as well. And then, one must consider the monkeys! It is the truth, and I will tell it no matter what you say!

And then there are the zombies, of course.

Your universe sounds like a lot more fun than mine.

We make our own fun. Or, alternately, we're really dumb and easily amused in the morning. You make the call.

Have to agree with you on this one.

Frankly, in order for my commute to be this much fun, it'd have to involve humping cows. Which is does, oddly enough, roughly twice a week.

Ahh, the joys of island life.

Is 'humping' a verb or an adjective in that sentence?
