They always have rope in the movies!

For the last few days, it has seemed like a good idea to reincorporate some meditation/breathing exercises and the LBRP into my daily routine. So I finally got off my metaphysical ass to do it this morning, and... just as I am finishing up the end of the rite, Roommate J. and Boyfriend M. come rushing up the stairs. M has hit J in the nose and the nose is bleeding. Quoth [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants, "What, exactly, were you banishing, there?" So that's fun.

Also, about ten minutes after this episode, I coughed up a long black cotton thread. Either my return to regular banishing of demons hadn't come a moment too soon, or, I eat towels in my sleep. Which is more likely to be true, I leave as an exercise for the reader.

Later, [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants and I went to the hardware store. Let me tell you something: You have not lived until you and your same-sex partner have gone to the hardware store for 400 feet of rope and 1000 yards of electrical tape. When we asked where the rope was, the guy behind the service desk was giving us the full on wink-wink-nudge-nudge-know-what-I-mean? face. When we had to come back and ask about the electrical tape, he went through the full range of amused/interested, and had to walk us over to the proper aisle.

Always pleased to put some amusement in somebody else's day. Anyway, now that the typing muscles are warmed up, maybe I can finish the @(#@*&%! meditation for tomorrow. That would be nice!

I was thinking...

...of being a Lv.1 Fighter at Dragon*Con on one of the days. Adventurer's Kit, the whole nine yards. I'd probably spend a lot of time asking everyone where the tavern is, too.

Hee, that'd be a great schtick. I can just see our crowd as various level one characters. The ranger shaking the compass and turning it around, while the bard and cleric turn the map upside down and argue. And of course, the wizard would have to have some kind of colorful scarf trick to do the "fear my color spray!" line.

I can so see all of you guys doing that... it would be hilarious! :-) You so need to bring a video camera... or can you?

Who would be what? Rather than the obligatory 'Leather Armor' I think I'll opt for having an extra 'Healing Potion' or two. I'll bet I could get a couple of nifty little bottles to fill with Bärenjäger or somesuch.

My picks

You'd better be the fighter. [livejournal.com profile] triadruid can be the ranger with the map. [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants should be the bard, and [livejournal.com profile] matchgirl42 can be the cleric. I could be the wizard, so I should learn to juggle, so I can do Dancing Lights. :-P
[livejournal.com profile] agrnmn is clearly the barbarian.

And who's cleric should I be? "Aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhh!"'s?

Well actually.....

What I was originally thinking was that, as a 1st level cleric, many of my spells wouldn't work on the first try, so I would get frustrated, bang my staff on the ground, and cry "Aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhh!" And then the spell(s) would work. You know.

*I* thought it was funny.

*sigh*

My digital camera has video taking capabilities, but alas I have only the one memory stick, and it's not that large...(128mb). Now, if someone were to bring another memory stick large enough to capture a good length of video....

That's pretty damned funny. Let's put that on the list for next year.

Yes! That'd be pretty good flaunt material, too, for next year's parade....

You know me...

...always over-eager. I just have a hunch that as fun as they are to portray, there's gonna be more Pirates this year than there'll be Stormtroopers. It'd be a shame to get lost in the crowd (literally & figuratively). Would this be too much of a stretch to pull off this year? I'd have thought your lot would have already had most everything, clerics aren't (usually) complicated, and I've enough time to get my paws on whatever it is I lack between now & then. All the same, if you'd still rather wait I guess I can bide my time. ;)

We could probably pull it off this year. The thing is, that I have already told the nice parade people that we will be pirates in the parade. So if we want to do this as a costuming group, that is cool, but we will need to do it some day other than saturday, since parade registration time is over now.

Parade groups don't take ANY walkups? Where's the list of possibilities again?

Parade groups take walkups if there is a group the walkups can fold into. I don't think they are supposed to, I think they just don't particularly notice.

What list of possibilities are you talking about?
