Weeell....

The computerbox is dead. Official-like. Yesterday, while following up on a suggestion by ES that had something to do with removing and replacing the CMOS battery, I noticed that a number of capacitors on the motherboard were coated in some really interesting corrosion crystals, and went "Hmmmmmm." Later, ES dropped by, looked at the board and the capacitors and the corrosion crystals and said, "Um. Yeah." He also said things like "If you had a really steady hand, you could pull off those capacitors and solder in new ones." At this point, I held up my hands, let everyone observe the reason why I am completely inelegible to be a neurosurgeon (but the jury's still out for gynecologist). He said "Um. Yeah." again. So he said he'd like to have a go at it, and I sent him home with the board and the processor, along with [livejournal.com profile] triadruid's old case, saying "More power to ye, laddie". And lo, I did buy new parts, which will be in the mail sometime this week.

On the upside, we've been having a fine time here at EHQ. [livejournal.com profile] greektoomey is here all week (so if you're available during the day and want to drop by and visit, that's cool), and we are prepping for the New Year's Champagne and Hentai party. We got lots of nifty toys for Winter Avarice, too!

And, it's not Queen of Wands, but another webcomic seems to have taken up residence in our house, or, at least, we seem to do this a lot....

I first read that as "And lo, I did buy new pants." It seemed a perfectly sequitur response to your toasted computer, too.

Well, I did buy some new pants, but that was Friday, and not related to the computer issues...

Just because you can't find *your* pants...

I think it would be very cool to visit but it's a bit far right now. Yes, I've not gotten much sleep and am a little loopey.

*Pets the Torin*
You're welcome to come by any time you like, of course. We do understand it's quite a hike, though.

The Torin purrs or dooks as the case may be...

Qu'est-ce que, "dooks"?

Dooking is what ferrets do when they're happy and playful. It's a sort of "chuckling" sound. Considering that the picture was of a ferret, I thought it might be more appropriate than a purr.

Oh ah.

/me adds that to the list of things zie knows about ferrets.

It's still a short list :)

I really could talk your ear off about ferrets. There is much knowledge there. But again, it presumes a talking. :)

Ah, all hail the goodness that is Jennie Breeden, spelling problems and all.

Have you seen her *other* webcomic, http://geebasonparade.keenspot.com/?

[evilly plotting to bring more minions under her control...]
